Worldwide presentation of the MCP outcomes

a) Oslo, 21 November 2011, at the Zero Emissions Conference, on the first anniversary of MCP ratification.

The Global Cities Covenant on Climate Mexico City Pact First Annual Report 2011 was presented at expert panels and presentations during the Zero Emissions Conference held at Oslo one year following MCP ratification as means of analyzing the world’s principal initiatives for fighting climate change. Panelists Arnold Schwarzenegger, Anthony Giddens and Connie Hedegaard shared the stage with Martha Delgado for the report’s presentation.

b) Durban, South Africa, 5 December 2011, at the 17th UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties.

The Global Cities Covenant on Climate Mexico City Pact First Annual Report 2011 was presented as part of official parallel observances at the 17th UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties. The event included participation from Martha Delgado, Mexico City Secretary of the Environment; David Cadman, President of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability; James Nxumalo, Mayor of Durban; and Ronan Dantec of United Cities and Local Governments.

At the event, cities relevant actions’ fighting global warming was emphasized along with an invitation to other world cities to join the pact.

c) Davos, Switzerland, 25-29 January 2012, at the World Economic Forum.

Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, president of the Council, presented The Global Cities Covenant on Climate Mexico City Pact First Annual Report 2011 at the World Economic Forum, as part of its “Energy in Sustainable Cities: New Energy Models for Urban Growth” summit, at which Mr. Ebrard declared that mayors had decided “to establish contact with the World Bank, the UN and Asian as well as European cities networks as part of pact follow-up.”
